On Wednesday, March 4th, students and their families were invited to come to Creekside's Innovation Fair. This was our first ever "innovation fair", using a slightly different approach from our traditional science fair. Students were asked to be creative and innovative in designing a variety of different projects that were showcased throughout the school. Some of the intermediate students' projects included Genius Hour presentations, science experiments, Rube Goldberg machine inventions, and Aboriginal longhouses. The primary students were also invited to join in the Innovation Fair. Our younger students were keen to have the opportunity to build and create their own structures and designs. The primary classes used a variety of building materials such as straws and connectors, recycled materials and tin foil, Lego, blocks, and tooth picks and marshmallows to create designs and structures.
